Could This Eyeliner Stencil Be The Makeup Tool That Evens The Playing Field?
I have add a love/hate relationship with the winged eyeliner for as long as I can remember. I saw it for the first time on a model on the front cover of a magazine years ago and remember thinking, I cant wait to get home to try it. It was from here that this love/hate relationship began.
I considered myself quite good at makeup. I had a steady hand and the right tools to get every technique and look done. I had liquid eyeliner down and couldn’t understand my girlfriends frustrations with it but what I didn’t know at the time was how I was about to to get a lesson in patience and understanding.
How hard could it be, after all, all it was was an extension of the liquid eyeliner and I already knew how to do that, right? Wrong! The cats eye or the winged eyeliner as I like to call it is a skill that takes a lot of time and practice to master. It can’t be rushed and cannot be done without a mirror, trust me I have tried, and it is nearly impossible to get both sides even and looking the same. I tried all the eyeliner hacks, things like, using a business card and using scotch tape to create that perfect crisp tail but each hack came with its own set of obstacles.
So when I stumbled upon this eyeliner stencil that boasts the capabilities of turning even the most inexperienced makeup novice into a winged eyeliner specialist I was curious but at the same time very skeptical. Usually anything that looks this easy has to have a catch to it. So I went away expecting never to think about it again but that wouldn’t be the case. Every time I picked up my makeup brush or liquid eyeliner to apply my makeup the same thing would come into my mind “I wonder if that eyeliner stencil would make this easier to do”. I couldn’t shake these constant thoughts so I decided there was only one way to put this nagging thought to bed and went ahead and bought the stencil online. It wasn’t expensive and if it helped, even just that little bit, I thought it would have been money well spent.
